The problem

It works. It has worked for years.

Trial balances by email. Eliminations in a spreadsheet nobody wants to inherit. Notes typed into Word, then typed again when a journal lands late. And when the auditor asks for the translation reserve proof, someone loses a day to it.

The shareholding sits in one file and the consolidation in another. When a holding changes in August, somebody has to remember to change both. The year-end tie-out is where you find out whether they did.

Meanwhile, balance confirmations go out by email, come back as scanned PDFs, and get matched by hand.

A typical close

Day 1Chasing trial balances and confirmations.
Day 4The consolidation spreadsheet.
Day 6Retyping notes.
Day 7A journal lands late. Back to day 4.

None of this is a skills problem. It is what happens when the structure, the numbers and the document live in three different systems.

Why us

Big enough to deliver. Small enough to care.

Big enough to deliver.

Behind FinConso is an established team of chartered accountants, engineers and security specialists who have delivered finance systems before. You are not betting on two people and a laptop.

Six years advising listed and private companies across sectors, with our own cybersecurity, analytics and ERP specialists. The engineering bench is ours, not borrowed.

Small enough to care.

You will talk to the people who build it. When your statutory format needs a change, that is a conversation with the product team, not a ticket in a queue.

The people who answer your questions are the people who write the code.
Most format needs are met through configuration. Where the product must change, we agree scope and timing with you first.
Improvements one customer asks for are released to every customer.

How it works

Five steps. You set up the group once.

  1. 1

    Set up the group once

Every entity with its country, currency and year end. Ownership, control and effective interest, held as at any period you choose.

  2. 2

    Bring the trial balances in

Upload or pull from the source system, entity by entity and period by period. Map once; the mapping is versioned and reused.

  3. 3

    Run the consolidation

Eliminations, currency translation and non-controlling interest applied from the structure. Large groups run in a queue.

  4. 4

Write notes tied to the ledger

Tag each figure in the note back to the account behind it. Post a late journal and the note follows.

  5. 5

    Produce the filings you make

Quarterly results, standalone and consolidated. Half-yearly related party disclosure. Print-ready output.
